Remembrance Day in Gettysburg

Today is the 146th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. Many ceremonies are taking place today and throughout the weekend. Earlier this morning, public figures such as Richard Dreyfuss, Harold Holzer, Governor Ed Rendell, and others delivered fitting addresses at the rostrum in the Soldiers' National Cemetery. This evening at the Majestic Theater, actor Stephen Lang will narrate a special musical selection in honor of ongoing Lincoln Bicentennial. This will be followed by the 11th Annual Michael Shaara Award for Civil War Fiction.

I recently completed a book for young people in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Lincoln Bicentennial Commission. Abe in Pennsylvania is a FREE downloadable book which depicts key moments in Lincoln's life as well as important events in Pennsylvania Civil War History. This is a great honor for me to take part in these commemorations. You can obtain the free publication here.

Furthermore, I will be holding a book signing at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center Bookstore on Saturday November 21. I will be there from 12-5 and signing copies of my three books. Please stop by and say hello if you are in town! Have a great weekend!
